a love for homecomings and cookies
I just wanted to share some recent shots... it's been a flurry of activity with a variety of shoots these last two weeks.
A recent military homecoming. This was only my third behind the lens and I hope it's not the last (unfortunately, I know there will still be families that are separated for extended periods of time, whether or not there are wars and conflicts in the world). Can one specialize in photographing reunions? Because I'd like to.

That same day I applied to be a volunteer photographer for Operation Love Reunited. I'll let you know how it goes.

I've been practicing for the Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap, which is coming up pretty soon. This white chocolate chip and macadamia nut cookie recipe comes from one of those seasonal baking issues that is out now, published by Better Homes and Gardens, I believe, and called 100 Great Cookies or something. For a simple home baker like me, these magazine specials are gold.

Well, we are off on a long road trip adventure to visit family for the upcoming holiday. Three kids and 12 hours in a compact car. Your well wishes and positive thoughts are sooo appreciated. I'm likely to shoot many of our meals, and expect to get weird looks from family members.
Happy Thanksgiving!
