i've been on a fruit kick lately, can you tell?

i stole this honey apricot recipe from helene of tartelette. she is at the top of my "food photographers i want to spend a day {or more} with and pick her brain" list. her blog oozes images that look effortlessly constructed, showcasing her enviable skills in food preparation, styling, and photography. helene's book plate to pixel is my food photography bible... if there is a must-have guide for the beginning food photographer, it's this one.

hope everyone has a safe 4th. we are heading to l.a. early tomorrow for a mini-vacation this weekend. i am bringing 3 cameras, a ton of film, and am shooting memories.
